An illegal, dark magic ritual often performed by jealous or scorned women near Kyoto shrines around 2-3 AM (the hour of the ox) - Nail a straw doll to a sacred cedar, 7 nights in a row, Do not get caught or  accidentally witness someone doing this, else they'll hunt you down!! 💀- "If you curse someone, best to dig two graves."

This curse was originally inspired by the jealous 'hashihime' (Who's lover betrayed her.) famously performed in the play "Kanawa" - night after night, she begs the goddess of kifune shrine for her to be transformed into a "living oni" for revenge.
Thesedays it’s illegal (seen as a form of bad intent/stalking) but every so often people find dolls nailed to trees!!! (👻though, with the introduction of security cameras, it’s becoming more and more rare)
