•About this Yokai•
"Punkish-woman"(JP: "パンキッシュ女") • Type: Yokai • Related Yokai: Rokurokubi? (Nukekubi?) • Usually Appears: The Night of 26th.
[Ino Mononoke roku - Day 26/30]
Story: That night, poor Heitaro, was picked on by a giant woman's head with no body & just an arm. it hopped around, poked & prodded, and licked his face like a cat, like the others it eventually vanished, What a punk!!
Note: this yokai is technically nameless in that it goes unamed in the stories – however, 'Punkish woman' (JP: "パンキッシュ女") - is the title that many Japanese yokai fans have given her, a friend once told me that they don't know why exactly, but its likely because someone saw merch of her and said something along the lines of "what a punk!" that stuck, and soon everyone else started calling her that too. – Their reasoning made me laugh. so I'll give her this title too: Maybe its because she gets physical with Heitaro? like a bully? Nobody knows for sure!

"稲生物怪録" or "Ino Mononoke Roku" is a (supposedly, true?) story which takes place in Miyoshi, Hiroshima, during July of 1749 – in which 16 year old "Ino Heitaro" (& his friend Gonpachi) decide to play "Hyakumonogatari" (a game which involves telling 100 ghost stories.) as a test of courage to see which of them is the bravest! Soon after the two are visited by various ghosts, yokai and other supernatural phenomena, day & night for an entire 30 days!!! – [You can watch a telling of it here (with english subtitles)] – I'm going to try & gradually complete a yokai sticker for each day! – (Please note: I will be posting about them out of order & at my own pace.)
