• About this Yokai •
Keukegen (Jp:毛羽毛現) - Keukegen are dirty little balls of hair that sort of resemble a puppy. - However, it does not make a good pet because its fur is incredibly Dirty, Dusty and Greasy and can spread disease. if you aren’t careful they’ll grow very big and become a nuisance. Better to sweep up before this guy has a chance to!!
•Early Appearances & History•
Originally illustrated in 1781 as part of Toriyama Sekien's "Konjaku Hyakki Shūi" - [今昔百鬼拾遺] - Its name is a pun - when written with different kanji (希有怪訝), keukegen means "an unusual thing which is rarely seen".
