Kamonegi - [Slang/Yokai] - 鴨葱 or 鴨が葱を背負って来る

• About: 鴨が葱を背負って来る  ("Kamo ga negi wo shotte kuru”) or “a duck flies in with some green onions” is a phrase or analogy which comes from the idea that ducks and green onions are a delicious pairing, (Duck almost always comes with green onions as a side in restaurants because the flavours mash up so well.) - If you where starving and a duck just so happened to waddle along bearing green onions on its back it would be most lucky & convenient indeed. (But not for the duck of course.) - The saying is often used when something surprising but welcome happens suddenly. - It’s something ‘too good to be true.’ it can mean something akin to "easy target" or a "golden opportunity." – These days, kamonegi is also often used to refer to someone who is easily 'scammed' or taken advantage of. (Hence why i gave it a thieves furoshiki bundle.)

• Pop Culture: Most famously, this is the phrase which inspired the pokemon; 'farfetch'd' ; Its name in japanese is shortened to ‘鴨葱’ (literally "duck leek") - The idea is also joked about in Dungeon meshi. - Incidentally there's also an award winning Japanese owned soba shop in Seattle which also uses the same name! if you're from the area, visit sometime why dont'cha? – (Haven’t been, Just thought it would be nice to mention it  (its the one other thing that comes up if you search the name in English.)

Indeed there is not much else to say, no old stories or legends behind it that I could find, but puns definitely count as a type of folklore too, there are dozens of yokai who’s origins amount to simply being a pun! — honestly; i just felt like drawing a funny onion duck; waddlin' along to your plate.
