Uriko Hime (瓜子姫) - 'melon princess' - [Folk Hero]

It’s the slightly gullible Melon seed Maiden! (瓜子姫) Uriko Hime!! -

A folktale about a beautiful girl born from a melon* in standard folktale fashion she is found and adopted by a childless couple & set up to marry a prince. – but. - while everyone is out making wedding arrangements for her, a demon known as 'Amanojaku' comes knocking on her door, tricks her into letting him inside, he then tearing her face off & wearing her skin... *what kind of melon varies. (its said that there are over 200 regional variants to the story all in all.) - Often, in a child-friendly twist, the ending is changed to her being stripped/tied to a persimmon tree & later saved by her family, in some versions she excels at weaving too.

Obviously it’s a parallel to momotaro & kaguyahime in a lot of ways (the main being a that she’s born from a fruit.) (poor uriko doesn’t seem to be as lucky as her counterparts.) so I designed her sticker to pair nicely with my earlier Momotaro! - yay!
