• About this Haunted doll •
‘Annabelle Higgins’ - [Haunted doll 1970s] - A vintage Rag doll* said to be possessed by a demon. it moved around the house on its own, wrote notes & caused various accidents after being mocked. (Car-Crashes.) - Considered to be the most cursed item in Ed & Lorraine Warrens Occult Museum in Monroe Connecticut. Where it is kept to this day.(the museum closed in 2019 when Lorraine passed, they’re in the process of looking for a new location)
Anabelles sturdy protective box is specially made of wood infused with holy water & oil. Attached to the sides (not visible from the front) are three crosses as well as a copy of the Lord’s Prayer, statues & prayers to St. Michael. A Devil Tarot card is tacked onto the door above the handle (A Face-up devil card can mean Binding (among other things) My guess is Ed added it as an extra seal of sorts?)
In addition to being the worlds most famous paranormal investigators & world renowned Demonologists. – The warrens where devout Roman Catholics. (Their Religion was a big reason for the majority of their investigations. Ed at the time was 1/7 people officially approved by the church.) - Lorraine claimed to be clairvoyant & a medium able to see peoples auras, for that reason she also did not like to look at the doll or acknowledge it in any context. - The two married in 1945 & created NESPR in 1952 (New England Society for Psychic/Paranormal research) The Warrens held that demonic forces are likely to possess those who lack faith and that their faith was key in ridding evil.
Annabelle (as well as many of the Warrens various exploits) would inspire a whole series of movies produced by WB* (to name a few: The Conjuring, Amityville Horror and most recently ‘The Devil Made Me Do It.’ ) – Lorraine was quoted as saying that the first conjuring was “very accurate” and that “Anything that scares people away from evil is a good thing.” – When someone doubted their motivations as researchers Ed would say that he “was in it to prove that the devil exists, because the biggest success that devil ever had, was convincing people he doesn’t .”
When asked why they don’t simply destroy or burn Annabelle, the answer was always: “its better to know where the demon is rather than release it.” - They & the museums current curator have been offered millions of dollar over the years for the doll, offers are always refused & the current curator swears by their legacy.
–You can read more about Annabelle (& the various accidents which she’s caused over the years) & learn much more about the Warrens on the NESPR website here: https://tonyspera.com/case-files/ (I’d also highly recommend checking out the current curator (The warren’s son-in-law) Tony Spera’s Youtube channel for updates & some fantastic personal anecdotes & recordings of the Warrens & their collection. - [As I mentioned earlier on twitter, There was also brief rumour in 2020 that the doll had escaped, but it was soon proven to still be in the museum tony posted a video quickly in response! - shortly after, he did a couple Q&A’s about the doll itself. (its pretty sweet, honestly.)]

*for legal reasons, I'd like to state, am not affiliated with any of the above parties, this is not intended to depict a “Raggedy Ann doll” (which might I add, on their own, also have a spooky history (& many urban legends surrounding them.) [but i think that’s best left to my readers own research (its all easily found with a quick google.)] any resemblance is coincidental/this is a parody? - I’d also encourage buyers not to stick this one on their automobiles juuust to be safe. 🚗
