Hinoshu - 脾ノ聚 - [Yokai | KanNoMushi]

• About this Yokai: a hard, lumpy polyp or worm with sharp red teeth, it infests the spleen, becoming active whenever the host witnesses a beautiful sight, causing extreme stomach pain & dizziness. [Comparable to being hit in the gut with a rock.] it's especially excited by the scenery of stones in zen gardens. it rolls and rampages around the hosts insides, causing internal bruising...

• Cure: when this germinates it’s hard to get rid of, an unknown and incredibly complicated Acupuncture technique was said to be most effective, but it was complicated so the directions were not written down. (Only passed down orally from teacher to students)

• History: One of 63 ‘KanNoMushi’ 疳の虫 (germ/parasitic Yokai) from the “Harikikigaki” 針聞書 or “the book of needles” - a tome about acupuncture & medical knowledge written in 1568 by a resident of Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. [See my harakikigaki section for more info.]
