A short list of "Great animals of the Pinewoods" – As mentioned very briefly (many listed just by name only) in Deacon Whites Idees [1905, by Stirling Wilson Brown] -Perhaps significant perhaps not as they where mentioned mostly in jest. – But, interesting never the less, it lists a few variants of critters which where also described in Cox's [fearsome creatures of the lumberwoods 1910.]. - the full list of critters mentioned there are as follows: The Laly-gag "Guyanther, Slap-jack, Hew-gag, Wack-a-lack, Go-devil, Porcuhog & Wannigan"
