Collection: BYU Bakemono no e 物尽繪

Yokai which featured in the "bakemono-no-e" (物尽繪) – sometimes also known as  "Bakemonozukushie" (化物尽繪) or "BYU bakemono-e" [a mysterious scroll currently held at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, USA] - Each yokai was labelled with its name in hand-brushed ink, but the scroll sadly had no no title, signed name or included date; comparisons to other scrolls seem to indicate that it was drawn sometime between the 1660's – 1802.
