Kune-kune - (JP:くねくね - "wiggle wiggle")
•About this Yokai:
Kune kune are a blurry white... things. which appear swaying back and forth, like a 'dancing white shadow' far in the distance, usually seen on farmlands or near a beach, sometimes in the mountains, (anywhere scenic really.) - Those that try to get a better look with binoculars, quickly find themselves loosing their minds, falling to the ground and foaming at the mouth.
...Sometimes its better not to know what it is you’re looking at....
•History and early appearance: A modern legend that has seemingly been circulating the internet since its likely inception on 2channel around 2001. - Usually told in the form of a "true story" - There are several stories about it online, usually told as a first hand experience.
• Pop-Culture:
Kune Kune appear in Touhou project's Urban Legend in limbo (2015) - Funnily enough, it appears closely to a Hattifattener from the Moomin series: (Hattifattners seem to officially be called "kunekune" in japanese, but thats because of their wiggly behavior. (the similar appearance is entirely coincidential, lets not get them confused.)
Kune kune appears as the first chapter and episode of Other side picnic (2017)
