Ozake No Mushi - 大酒の虫 - 'Heavy drinking worm.'
• About this mushi: a blood red sack full of writhing parasitic worms that infests their hosts abdomen. Those infected soon become heavy drinkers, the sack heats up as the host drinks, and drinks and drinks...
if you pop its shell, it'll explode into red sand (it's eggs.) further spreading the disease, making their drinking problem even worse!!
• Cure: it seems there was no cure recorded --*hic!!!* 🤭 -The worms remain long after the host passes on.
Yet another One of 63 ‘KanNoMushi’ 疳の虫 (germ/parasitic Yokai) from the “Harikikigaki” 針聞書 aka “the book of needles” - a tome about acupuncture & medical knowledge written in 1568 by an unkown resident of Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan.
