Description
Hajikkaki – 恥っかき
•About this Yokai: A utterly pathetic, embrassing, short, shy, stumpy fat ghost, spawned from spirits of those who died of UTTER HUMILIATION. It dislikes being around others so much that it buries itself underground … its said that If you’re digging and you unearth one… bury him deeper than before, or you will suffer a similar humiliating fate.
•Early appearances & History: Another yokai who appears in early hyakki yagyo emaki picture scrolls, given a name, but had no proper description included. – The illustration & lore which people have attatched to it seems to be based on a spirit from Chinese folklore called the shahyōchū (謝豹虫).
