Haimushi – 肺虫 – ‘lungworm’
•About this yokai: a flying maggot said to live in the lungs 🫁 & intestine. if removed from the body it will eventually combust into a fireball and its host will die!
• cured with: powdered Atractylodis root.
One of 63 ‘KanNoMushi’ 疳の虫 (germ/parasitic Yokai) from the “Harikikigaki” 針聞書 or “the book of needles” – a tome about acupuncture & medical knowledge written in 1568 by a resident of Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan.
