The Fog-hog – [Fearsome critter]

• About this critter: A gray floating hog said to appear over Star Lake, North Wisconsin on only the most foggy of evenings: it makes the dense night fog even thicker than soup, which confuses fish who then swim through the air, the greedy fog-hog then feasts! – Locals keep their windows closed tight on foggy nights, else the scared fish will try to flee into them.

• History: Another critter included in Art Childs “yarns of the big woods” 1925  Star Lake is of course, a real place, tiny community mostly known as a fishing resort, notably it has a historical museum with one of those big Paul Bunyan statues: I wonder if anyone there has heard this legend, experienced or any fog hogs or flying fish…
