Description
Bunbuku chagama. – 分福茶釜 – [Yokai | Folktale] – aka “Moriniji no kama”
• About this yokai: Poor Bunbuku Changama was a little Tanuki that transformed into a teapot – but he got stuck and couldn’t change back. He didn’t mind being a fabulous kettle but he didn’t like the flames involved… so he made a deal with some monks and performed acrobatics for his keep instead!! – [he is often mistaken as a tsukomogami.]
[from “The Wonderful Tea Kettle” (1886)]
