Loveland frogman - [Cryptid/Alien]

• About this Cryptid:

The loveland frogmen (also known as the loveland lizard men) are a trio of bipedal frog-like, questionably amphibious anomalies with leathery skin, webbed hands, feet and the ability to stand upright as well as remain mobile in cold temperatures. These cryptids has been spotted a total of four times: Once in 1955, Twice in 1972 and once as recently as 2016 in the area of Clermont County, Loveland Town, Ohio. -

So the oldest story goes: One icy evening May 25th 1955, a business man named "Robert Hunnicott" was traveling along the outskirts of loveland ohio when he came across a group of creatures which he later described as gray "frog-like" men standing at the side of the road, it seemed they where having a conversation: spooked, the man turned to leave, when suddenly one of the frogmen stood up and waved what looked like a “metal wand” over its head, blue white sparks flew off of it! - The man rushed out of there, post-haste!!

-[as included in Close Encounter at kelly and other cases of 1955]-

...and so a legend was born, and that would indeed be strange enough... but then once again, twice in 1972 a frogman was seen once again!-

in 1972 the loveland frogmen where encountered by two police officers, a couple weeks apart on a cold evening of March 3, 1972 Riverside Road, on the outskirts of loveland. The first officer almost hit it with his cruiser, it stood upright scrambling over the guardrail, eventually disappearing into the Riverside Road lake. – The first officer chose to remain anonymous, but described the creature as being nearly 4ft tall with leathery skin and that it had left scratch marks on the rail where it had escaped. – A couple weeks later the second officer reportedly shot the beast, but that it had retreated. – They decided to report it to a cryptozoologist who wrote about it in his book about urban legends, however the author neglected to mention that the police man mentioned that  itwas actually just an iguana missing its tail (most likely someones pet) or so the second officer insisted in later interviews. (Keep in mind, at the time, as an officer working in a small religious town, he would likely have been shunned for even entertaining the rumour.) – The Police records of the incident would later be purged…

The third and most recent "frogman sighting" was in 2016: where a couple of students had been playing Pokemon go in Cincinatti. – They spotted what they thought was the frogman coming out of a pond. (the location adds doubt that its the same creature, even if its is a hoax.) - later in a student interveiw was apparently "confirmed" that it was a hoax and just another student wearing a costume... :o\

--I digress, even if it was shot and killed in 1972, the first story does mention at least 3 of them! (reguardless, this was fun to draw & research. 🐸) its the "cryptid of choice" for locals even & has even had its own cryptozoology festival since 2023~!
