•About this Yokai: a bug with a mallet shaped head. it infects the stomach and sucks blood from the heart when somebody has been recovering from being sick. If smashed, it causes blood clots.

 • Cured by vomiting.

One of 63 ‘KanNoMushi’ 疳の虫 (germ/parasitic Yokai) from the “Harikikigaki” 針聞書 or “the book of needles” – a tome about acupuncture & medical knowledge written in 1568 by a resident of Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan.
