• About this Yokai: Despite the name, it Lives in the belly area: Those who are infected develop a fondness for burnt smells & bitter flavors: they also start chuckling even if nothings funny.. They soon become weak & distant.

• Cure: This one has no listed cure, Many of these where treated with secret acupuncture techniques which the book mentions as “too complicated“ as such it was only taught orally.

One of 63 ‘KanNoMushi’ 疳の虫 (germ/parasitic Yokai) from the “Harikikigaki” 針聞書 or “the book of needles” – a tome about acupuncture & medical knowledge written in 1568 by a resident of Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan.
