• About this Sweet: Dango are chewy, glutinous rice dumplings. Traditionally made of millet, rice or sugar, and enjoyed at festivals. Usually filled something sweet like Anko (Sweet Azuki Bean Paste) Chocolate, etc. (possibilities and combinations are endless!) There are so many different kinds, toppings, & flavours than one person can list!
• A few popular variety’s are as follows:

Probably most notable for the emoji: “🍡.” Supposedly, the 3 Colours (Pink, White, Green) represent weathers in spring. (Blossoms, Snow & Foliage.) Or alternatively they are said to represent the seasons.(Spring, Winter and Summer, respectively.)
- Kibi Dango. (吉備団子, きびだんご, 黍団子): The Legendary magical ‘millet dango’ which famously appear in the folktale of “Momotaro, The Peach Boy” who uses “The best Dango in Japan” (Travelling rations made by his mom) to recruit friends (a dog, a pheasant, and a monkey) Together they defeat the demons on the Island of Oni, Onigashima. The name ‘kibi’ comes from the ancient “Kibi Province” which today is now “Okayama prefecture.” where dango is said to originate from.
