Popcornfish - [Cryptid/Critter 1953]

• About this Critter: a lumpy fish which was discovered by 2 UBC Scientists, this odd fish had 'popcorn-like bumps' on its head. Unfortunately, their chef cooked it before it could be photographed. in honor of their discovery, A Small lake in the yukon (Just North of White Horse) was in fact named after it! - Articles about the fish where published in the UBC-news & Vancouver sun in the 1980's.

This one was requested by "Kevin S" of the Canadian Fearsome Critter Society. - I was thrilled to hear that there was a cryptid/critter discovered by local UBC scientists, I say 'critter' because of how the articles i found ended (felt a bit tongue in cheek..) but it is a lot closer to a cryptid because of the usual unexplored area “it might exist” factor. - I'm not sure if professor Lindsay would be retired by now or not (or if either of them are still around but if they are I'd love to set up an interview sometime!)
